(KLTV) -

We have a nice couple of days on tap across East Texas on Friday and Saturday. Things will change, in a big way, as we approach your Sunday.

A dynamic storm system, currently moving into portions of the western U.S., will be moving toward Texas this weekend. This system will bring with it the threat for stormy weather on Sunday.

An impressive dryline will setup across The Lone Star State this weekend, separating the warm and moist air from the cooler and dry air. This boundary will be the focus of showers and storms on Sunday afternoon and evening across East Texas as it moves towards the east. Our PrecisionCast is already showing individual cells developing Sunday. The environment looks particularly ripe for severe weather, including damaging winds, very large hail and even the potential for tornadoes.

The Storm Prediction Center has already outlined ALL of East Texas under a "SLIGHT RISK" for severe weather as we move into Sunday. Portions of the area have already been upgraded to a "MODERATE RISK". What does all of that mean? Basically, things seem to be coming together for a decent threat for severe weather Sunday afternoon.

Right now, all modes of severe weather look to be on the table including damaging winds, large hail and even tornadoes. Stay tuned to the StormTracker 7 Weather Team for the very latest updates.
