WHARTON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The last Whitehouse student that remained in a Houston hospital after a car wreck has been discharged to a rehab facility.

Jacob Smith’s father said the teen has been moved to a rehab facility for a brain injury he sustained in the crash. Jacob will have to have speech, physical, and occupational therapy.

That crash happened on Highway 59 in Wharton County near Houston on April 12. Two students, the teacher, and the driver of that truck were all airlifted to a Houston hospital. The students were on their way home from a leadership tournament when a truck driving the wrong way on the highway hit them head on. The driver of that truck died last week.

Teacher Holly Mann is still listed as stable in that hospital. Another student, Jennifer Aragon, was released from the hospital last week.
