PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -

Paradise Valley police on Tuesday said a 68-year-old man whose body was found in his home in a gated community was stabbed to death.

Paradise Valley Police Lt. Michael Cole said officers are working several leads in the case but were not going to identify a suspect yet.

The body of Michael Gilman, 68, was found inside the home in the 5400 block of East Lincoln Drive about 4:30 p.m. April 29 by a caretaker, Cole said.

Gilman's cause of death was confirmed through an autopsy by the county medical examiner.

Cole said police were encouraging anyone who knew Gilman or who might have information about the crime to contact the Paradise Valley Police Department Crime Stoppers number at 480-948-7410.

"A violent crime is very rare in the town of Paradise Valley, so when something like this does happen it shakes the community to the core," Cole said the day of the homicide. "It's been two years since our last homicide, and eight years before that."
