The Darton State basketball program has been very talent-rich over the past two years.
It was apparent as they racked up 53 wins, a region and district title, and a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament.
It was just reinforced Tuesday, when eight Lady Cavaliers signed four-year transfers.
"It's because they worked hard while they were here and put themselves in a position to be wanted by other programs," says Darton State head coach Lea Henry. "I think it's a phenomenal accomplishment when you look at that table and you see all eight of them have an opportunity to continue on and get their education."
Three players, Iesha Bonner, Bookie Jones, and Cassie Eleby signed to play at Columbus State, where they will reunite with former Lady Cav Michelle Mitchell.
Henry knows the Lady Cougars just hauled in some talent.
"That's a group of players that have had a lot of success here together. They've played together. Michelle and Bookie were high school teammates," Henry says.
DaQuenna Moore and Cedricka Sweeting will continue to play together at Clayton State.
Jasmine Wilson is headed to Middle Georgia. Brooke Davidson will play at LaGrange, and Vanessa Akra signed with Tuskegee.
