Nacogdoches PD seeking 'person of interest' in Sunshine burglary

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Detectives with the Nacogdoches Police Department are looking for a "person of interest" in the burglary that occurred at Sunshine Food Mart on Tuesday.

"This individual is a person of interest only and not a suspect at this time," a press release stated.

The suspect or suspects forced their way into the Sunshine Food Mart and broke into the store's ATM machine early Tuesday morning.

According to the store's owner, the suspects entered the store through the front door after they jammed the lock. Then they broke into the store's ATM machine, using what appeared to be a crow bar.

The store owner said the suspects were all dressed in black.

According to the police report, the burglary occurred between 3:46 and 3:47 a.m. Tuesday. When the Nacogdoches Police officers arrived on the scene, they found that the suspects had forced their way into the store and the ATM machine.

The suspects fled the scene before the NPD officers got there.

    More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
