Woman files lawsuit against dentist, alleges sexual harassment

There has been some resolution for a Valley woman who filed a lawsuit against a dentist on allegations of sexual harassment.

A consent decree was filed Friday in the lawsuit against Arthur Porter, who goes by the name John Porter at his dentist offices in Fountain Hills.

The lawsuit was filed by one of Porter's employees.

A consent decree is an agreement or settlement to resolve a dispute between two parties without admission of guilt.

The decree states Porter will institute a number of preventative procedures in educating his staff about harassment and sexual harassment.

Porter has been ordered to pay the state $2,000 in fees.

The decree also states the employee is still seeking monetary damages from Porter in the Maricopa County Superior Court.

According to his website, Porter has been working in Fountain Hills for the past 12 years.
