LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Two Angelina county residents were honored for their service to the community at Friday night's73rd annual Angelina County Citizens Chamber of Commerce Banquet.
The banquet highlights all the Citizens Chamber does for the Community, while honoring those who have dedicated their time and efforts to helping Angelina County.
Citizens Chamber President, Alex Alexander Jr. says tonight's banquet shows the communities progress.
"This is a highlight it keeps our constituents informed of what's going on what we're doing we also offer an E.C. Burley Scholarship for our high school graduates and also our college attendees every year," said Alexander.
Along with the scholarship two of Lufkin's most prestigious awards were given out.
The Eagle award was presented to the former Mayor of Huntington, Herman Woolbright.
The Pinnacle award was presented to Lufkin Independent School District school board trustee, Andra self.
