PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police said a man suspected of pulling a knife on a city bus driver in April has been arrested.

Police said Elio A. Salas, 33, was arrested Tuesday morning while riding a city bus.

He was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and assault, a police spokesman said.

Salas is suspected of pointing a large hunting-style knife at a Valley Metro bus driver after an argument over a reduced fare card about 6:45 a.m. on April 27.

The suspect followed the driver down the aisle of the bus while threatening her with the knife, Sgt. Darren Burch said.

The suspect fled and was last seen approaching an apartment complex at 5702 W. Thomas Rd.
