LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Two cotton-top tamarins are the proud parents of three-day-old twins at the Lufkin Ellen Trout Zoo.

According to the zoo's Facebook page, the twins are the first babies for the adult tamarins, so zookeepers are keeping a close eye on the new family.

Zoo visitors can also get an up-close look at the new babies, as they are on display at the Small Animal Building.

The young tamarins take turns riding on the backs of the mother and father. It seems the parents do not slow down with the babies on their backs, as they can be seen hopping from branch to branch with the young hanging on tight.

According to the zoo, twins are normal for tamarins.
