ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Two homes in Northern Angelina County were destroyed early Monday morning after fires broke out.
According to Central Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dennis Cochran they received a call around 3 a.m. to a report of a house on fire on Holmes Road off 69 North in the Pollok area.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fully involved structure fire. There was nobody home when the blaze broke out.
While firefighters were working to put out the Holmes fire, they received another call around 5 a.m. reporting another structure fire off FM 1819 near the Cherokee/Angelina county line.
Cochran said a woman and man were home when the fire broke out. They were alerted to a fire in their home by smoke detectors. No one was injured. Cochran said the interior of the home was completely gutted.
The causes of both fires have not been determined, but Cochran said both homes are a total loss.
