PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -

Authorities say they've arrested a Prescott Valley man for kicking in his neighbor's front door and allegedly threatening to kill him.

The victim told police that Theodore Acosta, 27, had come over to his yard in the 3900 block of Navajo about 3 a.m. Monday, causing his dogs to bark, and the victim told Acosta to leave, according to the Prescott Valley Police Department.

Acosta returned to his neighbor's yard about 7:30 a.m. and the victim claimed Acosta was confrontational and threatened to kill the victim.

The victim, 36, said he told Acosta he was calling the cops and he closed and locked his door.

He said Acosta kicked the front door in and got into the house before fleeing across the street.

Prescott Valley police said when investigators interviewed Acosta, who appeared impaired, he admitted to having words with the victim but denied all other allegations against him.

Prescott Valley police said he admitted to using methamphetamines recently.

Acosta was booked into the Yavapai County Jail for two counts of threatening and intimidating, one count of second-degree burglary, one count of trespassing and one count of criminal damage.
