Restaurant Report Card: Kids eat FREE!

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS46) -

It's time to dish out a special edition of our Restaurant Report Card: Kids Eat Free. Your Money Team's Adam Murphy has a roundup of the restaurants where kids eat free most days of the week. And most of them scored "A's" on their health inspections.

If you and your kids like to pig out every once and a while, Williamson Brothers BBQ at 1600 Marietta Hwy. in Canton is a great place for you and your family. They got a 95 on their health inspection, and kids eat free Monday through Thursday. Some of the items on the kids menu include a child's cheeseburger with macaroni and cheese, a hot dog with fried okra and a grilled cheese sandwich. For the adults, they smoke some killer baby back ribs, chargrilled chicken, pulled pork and beef, with all of the great southern sides you'd expect.

Kids 3 and under can eat free at any Golden Corral around the metro, and Steak 'n Shake Restaurants offer a free Kid's Plate all day Saturday and Sunday for every $8 you spend.

Sunday through Thursday with the purchase of an adult meal, a child 12 and under can eat free from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at South City Kitchen, only at the Vining's location at 1675 Cumberland Pkwy. SE in Atlanta. They got a top score on their recent health inspection as well.

Another Sunday through Thursday deal is in the Crabapple section of Milton in Alpharetta. CANS Taqueria at 12635 Crabapple Rd. has Mexico City style cuisine and allows kids 12 and under to eat free with an adult meal purchase. It too got an "A" from the health department.

Another spot to take the kids most any day of the week is your local IHOP—check first, because a few of the Atlanta metro locations don't offer that perk.

Last but not least, if Asian food is your thing you will really like Doc Chey's Noodle House. Their locations at 1424 North Highland Avenue and 1556 North Decatur Rd. allow kids to eat free Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. as long as the parent has a "Karma" card. The Grant Park location at 563 Memorial Dr. SE does the same, but only on weekends.

The food is made fresh and just look at some of the items kids can order: soup, stir fry, lo mein, fried rice and chicken fingers with steamed broccoli. Adults can chow down on fish tacos, dragon bowls, curry or even cheeseburger dumplings. While the North Decatur Road location got an 88, the Memorial Drive location got a 95 and the Highland location scored a near perfect 99 on their most recent health inspection.

We've also gathered up a list of places around the metro, from Dallas to Marietta to Stockbridge, where kids can eat free at least ONE day of the week.

Decatur:

On Tuesdays, Saba allows kids 12 and under to eat free from the kids menu with the purchase of an adult meal. The location at 1451 Oxford Rd., NE, got an 88 on their most recent health inspection; while the 350 Mead Rd. location got a 90 or "A".

Gwinnett:

On Sundays, the Always Fresh Neighborhood Market and Restaurant at 5385 Five Forks Trickum Rd. in Lilburn allows kids 5 and under to eat free. They've got lots of southern fixings, from meatloaf to cabbage casserole, and got a high "A" on their most recent health inspection.

Marietta:

On Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to close, the Texas Roadhouse at 2475 Barrett Creek Pkwy. let's kids eat for $1.99 with the purchase of an adult entrée. They also got a near perfect 99 on their health inspection.

Alpharetta:

On Saturday nights at Shane's Rib Shack at 4180 Old Milton Pkwy. kids can eat free when you buy a meal, and they just got a new inspection score in April of a 91 or "A".

Dallas:

On Thursdays at La Cocina Mexican Restaurant at 457 Nathan Dean Blvd. in Dallas, GA, kids eat free off the kids menu when an adult buys an item costing at least $8.99. They have a recent score of 91 or "A".

Woodstock:

All day on Tuesdays, you can get TWO free kids meals with the purchase of one adult entrée at Folks Southern Kitchen at 180 Parkway 575. And they have an "A".

Stockbridge:

All day Sunday at Firehouse Subs at 1465 Hudson Bridge Rd. in Stockbridge, kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal for dine-in only. They got an "A" on their February health inspection.
