Good afternoon! We hope your power is on and you stayed high and dry through last night's storms.

Here are your afternoon stories to peruse today:

1. Police need help locating an autistic East Texas teen. 17-year-old Chance Coleson wandered away from his home in Waskom. Coleson is mildly autistic and has previously wandered away from home before being located in Greenwood, Louisiana. He is 5'8" and about 170 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Call 903-923-4000 if you think you know where Chance is.

2. We spent some time in Palestine recently, and visited some amazing places; one we happily stumbled upon on their opening day: Pint and Barrel Drafthouse in the Old Town area. Their menu looks amazing, as does the inside of this warm, friendly historic building. Check out their story on TheLoop.KLTV.com!

Ricky Neal, Jr. was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday for his role in a fatal shooting at Broadway Square Mall in February 2013. A Smith County jury deliberated for one hour and twenty minutes before handing down the sentence. We'll tell you more about what happened in the courtroom today on East Texas News at 6.

An injured pup found in Gregg County and taken to a local shelter has yet to be adopted. The dog, named Nicholas, was taken to the Humane Society of Northeast Texas on Sunday, May 4. He was found injured with a collar embedded into his neck. For more information, contact the Humane Society at 903-297-2170.

5. One of the top ranked lakes in the nation, Lake Fork, hosted the Toyota Texas Bass Classic this past weekend. $150,000 in cash and prizes was on the line and an East Texan, Keith Combs, came out on the top. Details here.

6.  "All of a sudden the tree just give out and boom! That is all I heard," said Della Whytus. Around 6 p.m. Monday afternoon a large oak tree fell through the roof of her apartment into her bedroom.  "There is no way I could have survived because that was right in the middle of the bed where I was sitting," Whytus said.
