Dewey man arrested in suspected road rage incident

Posted: Updated:
PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -

A possible road rage incident landed a Dewey man in jail on Sunday, Prescott Valley police said.

Ronald McCullar, 58, allegedly pointed a handgun at a vehicle carrying two adults and three children, ages 6, 13, and 16.

The adult driver told officers he wasn't paying attention and got too close to McCullar's vehicle in the 11000 block of State Route 69, police said.

The incident triggered an exchange of profanities between the two drivers, officers said.

Police said McCullar admitted to pointing a handgun at the other vehicle only after the other driver pointed a "finger gun" at him.

McCullar was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on five counts of aggravated assault and five  counts of disorderly conduct with a weapon.
