NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Constable's Office in Four have made the final arrests in a six-month long undercover investigation into drug activity.
Pct. 4 Constable David Stone said deputies served warrants on Kristal Garza Soto, 34, and Martin Betancourt, 30, both of Nacogdoches, on Friday.
Stone said both were arrested following an undercover investigation. Soto is charged with state-jail felony delivery of a controlled substance and state-jail felony endangering a child. Stone said the investigation revealed Soto had exposed a 12-year-old girl to meth. Betancourt is charged with state-jail felony delivery of a controlled substance.
Stone said while searching Betancourt's home, deputies found more meth and marijuana. He was re-arrested on Monday, after bonding out of jail on Friday, on new charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Stone said during Soto's arrest, more meth was recovered and, during a deeper investigation, deputies discovered her husband was using a false identification and is actually Demetrio Soto, 38, of Nacogdoches. Stone said Soto was out of prison on parole and had been extradited to Mexico, but returned to East Texas under a different name.
Stone said Demetrio Soto was arrested Monday on a charge of third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Karl Evan Meisch 23, and Christopher Sheffield, 28, were also arrested last month as part of the same investigation.
Deputies with the Constable's Office in Pct. 1 and the sheriff's office assisted in the investigation.
