POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Livingston man accused of abducting his girlfriend from a grocery store on Sunday.

According to the sheriff's office, an employee at 146 Grocery said the man, later identified as Donald Gail Vancamp, 31, physically removed a woman from the store then put her in his car. The employee said they ran out to the car to help the woman but Vancamp drove off before they could ge there.

The employee told deputies he could see Vancamp hitting the woman.

Deputies were able to identify Vancamp and the woman as his girlfriend. Deputies obtained a warrant for Vancamp's arrest and they were able to take him into custody on Wednesday in Liberty County.
