CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - A San Antonio man has been put in jail in connection to a 2012 five-vehicle wreck which claimed the life of a Milam man.
Records show Raymond Lawson, 52, was booked into the Houston County Jail on Monday, on a charge of criminally negligent homicide.
According to district court records, Lawson received a sentence of a six-month county jail term, followed by five years probation. He was indicted on the charge in May of 2013.
Lawson was driving down State Highway 7 when he failed to stop in an active construction zone and hit one of four cars stopped, which caused a domino effect.
Teddy Chance 59, of Milam, was the driver of a Ford Ranger which was the first stopped vehicle. He died instantly.
Six others were injured, including a flagger working the site.
According to a previous KTRE story, DPS officials said they were putting a case together to present to a Houston County grand jury to determine if a criminal negligent homicide charge would be brought against Lewis.
