Affidavit: Lufkin man threatened grandmother with large kitchen knife

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a 41-year-old Lufkin man on a felony assault charge after he allegedly got angry at his grandmother's refusal to let him use her car and threatened her with a large kitchen knife late Tuesday afternoon.

Bobbie Joe Wideman is still being held in the Angelina County jail on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office activity report, the incident occurred at a residence in the 300 block of Ramsey Road at approximately 3:52 p.m.

Wideman's arrest record dates back to 1994, according to the Angelina County Jail Website. His past arrests have been for charges like evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, possession of drug possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, assaulting-family violence, assault causing bodily injury, and escape.
