Hallsville baseball comes up short in state semifinal

Posted: Updated:
ROUND ROCK, TX (KLTV) - It was a record breaking season for the Hallsville baseball team, but it has come to an end. The Bobcats who advanced to the state tournament for the first time in team history lost in the semifinals to Aledo 9 to 1.

Hallsville struck first off an Austin Blakeley RBI double to right field. Star pitcher Connor Reich, a TCU commit, then struck out the side in the second inning.

After that however, Aledo's bats got hot. The Bearcats took a 2 to 1 lead off a Dakota Durant two RBI double, and they never looked back. Hallsville ends the season at 34 and 5.
