Corrigan GP fire claims 2nd victim

CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) -

A second person injured in the Corrigan Georgia-Pacific plant fire has died.

Kenneth "Kenny" Morris was 58.

According to a press release from Mike Love & Associates, Morris died Friday morning from injuries he sustained in the fire on April 26.

According to the press release, the Morris family thanks the Corrigan and Lufkin communities, as well as Morris' co-workers and friends for their support and prayers. The family also thanks the Memorial Hermann John S. Dunn Sr. Burn Center for their care and compassion.

Morris' services will be held Monday at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin. The family asks for prayers for Morris' wife, Debbie, and their children, Ashley and Amanda.

The death follows that of Charles Kovar, who died May 30 from injuries sustained in the fire.

Morris and Kovar are two of seven injured in the plant fire. While four of them have since been released, Jimmy Williams was last reportedly still in critical condition.
