LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - After the driver involved in a one-vehicle accident on Lufkin's Feagin Drive Thursday was airlifted to Tyler, it was learned that he was not injured in the accident.
Sgt. David Casper, a spokesman for the Lufkin Police Department said the driver was identified as Christopher Huitt, 30, of Lufkin.
"He was transported to Tyler via helicopter," Casper said. "However, it was later learned that he was not injured in the accident and is fine."
Casper said the investigation into the accident is ongoing and charges are pending against Huitt. He said the Lufkin Police officer who is investigating the accident has been in Tyler most of the day, and the accident report still is not complete.
Corporal Brad Davis of the Lufkin Police Department said in a previous East Texas News story said a tan Hyundai Sonata was driving southbound on Feagin Drive when it crossed lanes and drove through some brush, hitting two parked vehicles at a nearby residence. Then it flipped onto its side.
Davis said no one was in the parked cars when the Sonata hit them.
Huitt was airlifted to a Tyler hospital.
