LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police officers arrested two men after they allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint in the 1000 block of Shermell Drive Thursday morning and then fled on foot.
Octavaious Mosby, 22, and Deroy Eric Penson, 24, both of Lufkin, are still being in the Angelina County Jail. Each man was charged with first-degree felony aggravated robbery. Penson was also charged with 14 misdemeanor traffic warrants. Mosby's bail was set at $100,000, and Penson's bail was set at $105,480.
Sgt. David Casper, a spokesman for the Lufkin Police Department, said the victim was at his shop next door to his home in the 1000 block of Shermell Drive when Mosby and Penson, who were both armed with guns, approached him and demanded money.
One of the men allegedly used a stun gun on the victim. Casper said the victim gave the suspects money from his person, and one of the men also got money from the victim's vehicle.
After the suspects fled the scene on foot, they were later caught in the vicinity of the Atkinson Drive and Loop 287 intersection.
Both men were arrested and taken to the Angelina County Jail.
