LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Lufkin Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire on June 6 at 11:11 p.m., according to Captain Ozzie Jarman.
Jarman said when firefighters arrived, the home was about 50 percent involved, and flames were visible from the outside. He said there was too much fire to go in for an interior attack, so they did a defensive approach from the outside to protect any other structures nearby.
Jarman said the owners of the home live in Dallas and there was nobody living in the house at the time of the blaze. The investigation into what exactly caused the fire is still under investigation, but Jarman said he believes the fire started in the kitchen/dining room area.
Fire investigators do not believe the fire is suspicious.
No injuries were reported.
The home is a total loss.
