LUFKIN, TX (News Release) -

Crime Stoppers of Lufkin wants your help identifying the suspect in an investigation involving burglary and a false alarm.

Just before 5 a.m. Friday, May 23, emergency responders from Lufkin Fire Department and Lufkin Police Department were sent to an active alarm at a church on East Denman Avenue in Lufkin.

After searching the large, multilevel building, the responders determined that no emergency existed. A review of videos captured by the church's security cameras revealed that an unidentified suspect had entered the building and activated the alarm.

The suspect appears to be a white male wearing glasses, a black T-shirt with yellow printing on its front and back, and black athletic shorts with white stripes on each side. He was barefoot and had a military-style haircut - shaved on the sides and back and close-cut on the top.

Under the Crime of the Week section of www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com, you can view video of this crime.

Investigators do not know what, if anything, the suspect took from the building but he was inside and around the building for an hour and a half. He also activated a fire alarm when no fire existed, and false alarms cause emergency responders to be unavailable for actual emergencies.

If you can identify this suspect, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or submit a tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com. All calls and tips are anonymous and Crime Stoppers may pay a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest related to this crime.
