TRINITY, TX (KTRE) - A criminal investigator with the Trinity County District Attorney's Office arrested a 29-year-old on a felony sexual performance of a child charge Tuesday morning.

Travis Haygood, the chief criminal investigator for the Trinity County District Attorney's Office, said that he could not give any further details about the case because it is an ongoing investigation. Additional charges could be pending against Corley, Haygood said.

Corley is still considered a "person of interest" in a shooting death that occurred on a private drive near Trinity's Walker Street back on April 28. Haygood said his office and the Texas Rangers are still investigating the case.

"At this time, he is not charged with murder," Haygood said. "The case is still under investigation and will be presented to The DA when we complete it."

According to a previous East Texas News story, Trinity Police officers responded to the sound of multiple gunshot wounds and a report that someone had been shot at approximately 11:15 p.m. The shooting occurred at a private drive known as P. Gibson, which is located off of Walker Street.

The victim, Antonio Clay, was found dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

Trinity Police Chief Steve Jones asked for help from the Texas Rangers, and three Rangers showed up at the crime scene to help with the investigation.

Back in February 2013, Corley was the subject of a multiple-day manhunt by Trinity County authorities. Jones said Corley fled when his officers tried to serve an arrest warrant on the man for allegedly sending a text asking a 12-year-old girl to have sex with him.

"We had a feeling that he may run from us from our past experience with him, so myself and Constable Cole went and hid in the back woods and came up from behind the house and waited on a trail that we've known that's been used before because we've actually been to this house several times with other people that have lived here for drug related charges," Jones said.

Jones said officers obtained a warrant to search the property and found a small amount of marijuana and traces of cocaine. Jones believes Corley was able to grab a weapon and drugs before he ran.

"We located a stash of ammunition under the mattress," Jones said.

According to the arrest warrant for the 2013 charge, second-degree felony online solicitation of a minor, Coley texted the 12-yeard-old girl and asked her to have sex with him. He also allegedly provided tips on how she could get rid of evidence that they had sex.

At the time, Corley was out on bond on an unrelated drug charge.
