NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The hype about blueberries has gone up a notch as Saturday's Texas Blueberry Festival gets closer and closer.

Cowboy max rode into town to thank volunteers for their hard efforts in making the 25th celebration of the festival a success. He's traveled the world promoting the event.

"When I'm in the UK, I'm over there in Scotland, I tell people about the Blueberry Festival," Cowboy Max said. "They say that must be expensive. That must be about $49.95 to go to that festival. And I say no. It's a free festival. People come out from all over. People come from hundreds of miles just to come out here and these blueberries."

The annual event will take place in Downtown Nacogdoches from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m.
