SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Tyler man was killed when his car ran through a fence on Farm to Market 14 on Monday evening around 10:30.

Department of Public Safety troopers say Brandon Knowles, 26, was headed south near John Soules Foods when his 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage left the road and drove through a pipe fence on the west side of the road. The car overturned and came to rest upside down in a field.

Knowles was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to a Lindale funeral home.

A passenger, Leslie Wilkins, 23, of Tyler, is in serious condition at a Tyler hospital.
