LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) -

Livingston Police officers arrested a couple for cruelty to animals on Wednesday after the city's animal control officer found three small, malnourished dogs in a fenced yard at the residence with no food, water, or shelter.

Justin Wayne Mooso, 33, and Tressie Naomi Mooso, 33, both of Livingston, were each charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals, which is a Class A misdemeanor. Tressie Mooso was also charged with speeding and violation of promise to appear. Each person's bail was set at $2,500 for the cruelty to animals.

According to a press release, the Livingston Police Department received a citizen complaint about animals at a residence not having food or water. A Livingston PD officer and an animal control officer went to the residence to investigate and found three malnourished dogs in a fenced yard with no sign of food, water, or shelter.

The dogs were taken to a shelter for food and water. Although Justin Mooso and Tressie Mooso weren't home at the time, they were located and arrested a short time later.
