Man in Halloween mask assaults two Center residents in home invasion

CENTER, TX (KTRE) - In the wake of a home invasion in which a man wearing a horned Halloween mask assaulted two Center residents early Saturday morning a $1,000 reward is now being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Stephen Stroud, a detective with the Center Police Department said the two people were assaulted at the residence on State Highway 7 between Forest Lane and Biggars Street in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Stroud said the victims described the suspect as a black man who is about 6 feet tall. At the time of the assault, he was wearing all black clothing and a dark Halloween mask with two 1 ½ to 2 inch horns and "crazy teeth."

Center Crime Stoppers has approved a minimum reward of $500 for any information leading to the arrest of the unidentified suspect. In addition, someone made an anonymous $500 match donation to Center Crime Stoppers.
