NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Cassidy has had a "ruff" start to life. He's a 7-month-old Shepherd mix dog who came to the shelter with a severely injured leg.
Steven Bryant with the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter said, "Cassidy came in with some injuries received that caused him to have his right rear leg removed. Three-legged dogs and cats do very well. They are adaptable."
But you'd never know Cassidy has been through so much.
"I've seen him run as fast as the other ones. He's real playful, real friendly, seems to get along with all the other dogs, kids," said Bryant.
Cassidy may only have three legs but that doesn't stop him from doing anything that he loves. He loves running. He loves playing fetch and playing ball and he's just an active and young pup.
Cassidy is really friendly, craves attention and a good scratch and the Wounded Warrior Project is in Cassidy's corner.
"This guy is being sponsored by the Wounded Warriors Project and just a real real cool guy that needs a good home," said Bryant. "They kind of take special interest in guys like this that are dealing with some of the same difficulties they are"
Cassidy needs a good home and a family that will give him the love he deserves. As usual there is no adoption fee for BFF's adopted from the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter. To find out more information on our furry friend Cassidy call 936-560-5011.
