LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Starting Monday, June 30, the Kurth Memorial Library will begin it's summer amnesty program.
The program will allow people to have their fines waved.
"Any fines for any items that are being returned or have been returned are eligible," said Director Lorraine Simoneau. "It doesn't matter how old the fines are. Things not included are replacement costs and processing fees for lost or damaged materials."
To have fines waived, patrons are asked to come by the library and return the items. All fines will be forgiven on the spot.
The amnesty program runs through August 16.
