The Lufkin Police Department received a report of a man exposing himself to a female on the Azalea Trail at 9:25 a.m. Monday.
Officers responded to the area and located a subject fitting the description given by the caller, later identifying him as Charles Jones Jr. The victim told officers that she was walking on the trail when Jones rode by her multiple times on his bicycle. She said that the third time Jones rode by, he had his shorts down and was exposing his genitals.
The victim went on to say that Jones had one hand on the handlebars of the bike and the other hand on his genitals. According to the victim, Jones slowly rode by and was keeping pace with her for a few seconds.
The victim became scared and ran down the trail for help. The witness told officers that he did not see the actual offense but did see Jones ride by just after he found the victim running toward him in a panic.
Officers discovered that Jones had an active criminal trespass warning for the Azalea Trail.
Jones was arrested for Indecent Exposure and Criminal Trespass. He was transported to the Angelina County Jail where he was booked in for the above charges.
