LUFKIN, TX (News Release) -

Crime Stoppers of Lufkin wants your help identifying a wallet thief.

Shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 05, 2014, a male suspect followed a female customer out of a convenience store on West Frank Avenue in Lufkin. The woman had paid for her purchases and was carrying her wallet tucked under her arm. As she stepped from a curb onto the parking lot, the wallet fell to the ground. When she reached the fuel pumps and her vehicle she noticed that she had dropped the wallet but before she could walk back to the front of the store, the thief had picked up the wallet, carried it to his vehicle, and drove away.

Months have passed but the wallet and its contents have not been returned to the victim.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white, possibly Hispanic, male. He is shown here in an image pulled from the store’s security video. At the time of the theft, the suspect wore a camouflage-pattern jacket and black knit cap. He was driving a light blue, late model Ford Mustang with chrome or polished aluminum rims.

Under the Crime of the Week section of www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com, you can view video of the suspect, the suspect’s vehicle, and the theft.
