HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

After she was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a 29-year-old woman allegedly kicked a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper while he was transporting her to the Houston County Jail early Saturday morning.

Jessica Kimberly McDonald, of Grapeland, is still being held in the Houston County Jail on two felony charges - driving while intoxicated (third or more) and assaulting a public servant. She was also charged with criminal mischief and driving while license invalid, which are both misdemeanors. No bail information was available.

According to a press release, a DPS trooper stopped a black 2008 Kia on US 287 north of Crockett for traffic violations at approximately 2:31 a.m. Saturday. The DPS trooper noticed multiple signs of intoxication and McDonald, the driver of the car, performed poorly on the field sobriety tests.

While the trooper was transporting McDonald to the Houston County Jail, she allegedly kicked the officer several times and kicked multiple items inside the trooper’s patrol vehicle.
