NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

After he was indicted by a Nacogdoches County grand jury, a 48-year-old man was arrested and booked into the jail on two felony tobacco-related charges on Wednesday.

Mohammed Hossain Khan, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on two counts of third-degree felony possession of tobacco products tax. Collectively, his bail has been set at $400,000.

According to the grand jury indictment, the crime or crimes occurred between Sept. 21, 2010 and Jan. 19, 2012.

Count 1 of the indictment states that Khan possessed “tobacco products on which a tax of more than $50 is required to be paid.” The second count alleges that Khan “intentionally or knowingly” failed to Texas State Comptroller’s Office a report for the purchases of untaxed tobacco products.

No other explanation of the charges was given in the grand jury indictment.
