New Cardiac Rehabilitation Center opens in Lufkin

Posted: Updated:
LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Memorial Health System of East Texas and the Heart Institute officially celebrated the opening of their new Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, with an Angelina County Chamber of Commerce Business After Five event.

The center is a part of a three step phase that helps nurse patients back to health after a cardiovascular event and helps patients prevent them too.

According to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center Director, Dr. Ravinder Bachireddy, Angelina County is among the top counties in Texas with the most cardiovascular problems.

That’s why Dr. Bachireddy brought in the best equipment and staff to help curve the number of East Texans affected by heart problems.

“We are excited this is a historic event and this is the biggest milestone in Lufkin and Angelina County to have such a high quality program available for the community,” Bachireddy said.

The center set a goal to have 50 patients enrolled by the end of the year, they exceeded that goal within the first two months they opened.

The center is located at 312 Gaslight Blvd on the second floor above the Memorial Heart and Vascular Imaging Center.
