LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A man was injured in a shooting incident that occurred near the intersection of Jones and Cunningham Streets Friday afternoon.

According to Lufkin Police Department spokesman David Casper, a man was shot in the leg during the shooting incident.

Lufkin Police officers surrounded a house, to try to apprehend the suspect, who is a known member of the East Side gang.

A homeowner came out and said nobody else was in the house. When officers told her they would get a search warrant, she began kicking and screaming. A few more people then came out of the house.

Casper said two of those people were arrested on unrelated warrants and the homeowner was arrested for interference.

Police believe they know who the shooter is and are actively searching for him. They are choosing not to release information on him at this time.
