Police identify pedestrian killed in overnight accident

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler police are looking for a vehicle that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident. 

Lieutenant Adam Tarrant said the accident happened around 10:26 p.m. Monday, near the intersection of Loop 323 and Highway 110 N. in Tyler. When police arrived, they discovered a man lying dead in the road. Witnesses told police the man was hit while trying to cross the loop.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Kenneth Linnel Jones, a Tyler resident.

The vehicle did not stop, and Tarrant said the victim appeared to have been hit several times before anyone noticed.

Right now, police are searching for a vehicle in the Tyler area with front-end damage. If you have any information, you're asked to call the Tyler Police Department.
