Houston County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 44-year-old Ratcliff man early Monday morning after he allegedly stabbed another man in the side during an argument.

Troy Dickerson was booked into the Houston County jail on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. He has since posted a $15,000 bail and has been released from the jail.

According to a press release, Houston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call about an assault involving weapons at approximately 2:30 a.m.

During their investigation, the deputies learned that a fight occurred between Dickerson and Joseph Ward, the 42-year-old victim, on County Road 4710. Dickerson allegedly stabbed Ward in the side during that struggle.

Ward was treated by first responders and taken to East Texas Medical Center-Crockett’s emergency room. Dickerson was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
