GRAPELAND, TX (KTRE) -  A Corrigan K9 officer has resigned from the department. The department confirmed that officer James Hight resigned but would not give any details regarding the resignation. The city manager said they are aware of the resignation but would not comment.

Hight had worked in an official capacity alongside his partner Leigh, a German shepherd that also served in Afghanistan, for the last two years.

In a previous KTRE article Chief Darrel Gibson praised the work of Hight, saying that he had helped the department make a big difference in controlling the drug trade that travels through Corrigan.
