Gift of Love: Samuell and Shawna

Samuell and Shawna Samuell and Shawna

We want to be adopted together!

That's what both big brother Samuel and little sister Shawna will tell you when asking about their forever family.  This dynamic duo presents with lots of excitement and energy; not to mention hugs and smiles.  7-year-old Shawna says she wants to be a teacher or a doctor when she grows up.

"They help people," Shawna said.

Shawna loves Tinker Bell.  And her favorite Tinker Bell movie is,

"Fairies Lost Treasure," Shawna said.

Shawna's favorite food is chicken nuggets and she loves to go to McDonalds to get a toy.  As for dessert, she loves strawberry cupcakes.

As for her future, she wants a family that will take them both.

"Somewhere, where I can live with my brother," Shawna said.

"Because he is so nice and he takes care of me," Shawna said.

Shawna loves to play with her big brother and tag is one of their favorite games.

Samuell is all boy and loves to be outdoors.

"Swimming, fishing," Samuel said.

Samuel says he would love to have a family that has a pool, dirt bikes or even four wheelers!  And like most boys his age, Samuel loves super heroes and the movies made about them.

"Spiderman and Thor," Samuel said.

Samuel and Shawna will do well in a two-parent home with older siblings who can be role models to them, leading by example.  They will both benefit from stability and consistency with regard to their living environment.  They will benefit from clear messages that they are safe and their forever parents will meet their needs. But most importantly, this brother-sister team needs a family to show them the Gift of Love!

Tar-covered tires stick to parking lot of Lufkin tire shop

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
