ZAVALLA, TX (KTRE) - Work is continuing to progress on two Brookshire Brothers locations in Zavalla and Apple Springs.
Sally Alvis, a spokeswoman for Brookshire Brothers, said customers can expect to shop at the new express location in Zavalla off of East Main Street starting July 30.
"We look forward to not only serving our neighbors in South Angelina County but also the thousands of outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy our lakes, forests, and campgrounds," Alvis said. "You'll find deer corn for the hunters, fishing tackle for the anglers and a drive thru for the convenience of all"
Alvis said the store will have a grand opening on July 30 at 10 a.m.
Another store nearing completion is the express store in Apple Springs off of State Highway 94.
The Polk's gas station previously at the location ran by Brookshire Brothers was destroyed in a fire on Thanksgiving 2013. The station was a complete loss.
The pumps have been rebuilt and a temporary kiosk put in place until the express store is completed.
Brookshire Brothers' Express format blends the best of grocery and convenience, Alvis said. She added those stores are tailor-made for the communities they serve because they have grab-and-go items as well as their famous fried chicken and a hot deli. The Brookshire Brothers Express in Zavalla will also carry fresh meat, produce, and a strong compliment of grocery items.
