Editor’s Note: This story originally stated that the store where the employee theft allegedly occurred was the Beall’s store located in the shopping center located at 4919 North Street. That information was incorrect.

Nacogdoches Police arrested a 22-year-old woman on a state-jail felony theft charge Wednesday after she allegedly stole $1,921 worth of clothing from an apparel store located at 4919 North Street.

Tifani Danielle Oliver, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a state-jail felony theft between $1,500 and $20,000 charge. Her bail has been set at $5,000.

According to the arrest affidavit, Nacogdoches Police officers were dispatched out the store in reference to employee theft. The loss prevention specialist at the store told the officers that an employee had stolen $1,921 in merchandise from the store in the period since March.

When the officers talked to Oliver, she allegedly gave a full confession and said that she had stolen approximately $1,100 in clothing and that she had sold 10 to 15 items. She told the officers that the rest of the merchandise was in closets at her residence, according to the affidavit.

The officers went to Oliver’s residence, they found a large amount of the items that she confessed to taking, the affidavit stated.
