NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches County jury found a 21-year-old Dallas man not guilty of a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault Thursday.
Joseph Case Watts had been accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a party at a residence in Nacogdoches on Sept. 2012.
"The jury only deliberated 10 minutes," said Ron Adkison, Watts' defense attorney. "I talked to them afterward, and a few told me they thought it was a waste of taxpayer money."
Adkison said the sexual encounter between Watts and the alleged victim was consensual and that she never said it wasn't.
"The physical evidence even match up to what he told them happened," Adkison said.
