NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - CrossFit enthusiasts listen up! On Saturday, CrossFit Nac will be hosting their first Old Towne Showdown Competition.
More than 120 athletes are registered to participate in the event.
"We're just looking to have a competitive atmosphere for athletes coming out and trying to get the town and the community involved in what we're doing," said Jared Luna, co-owner of CrossFit Nac.
Nacogdoches and Lufkin vendors are also expected to participate and will be setting up booths for competitors and onlookers.
"We made sure to utilize what we have here in Nacogdoches and Lufkin and everybody local for our vendors," said April Bullock, the competition coordinator.
There will be three workouts over the course of the day, Luna said. Once the workouts are done, they will narrow the competition down to the top five athletes in the Rx male and female division, Scaled male and female division and Master's male and female division. The top three podium spot winners will receive a cash prize, Luna said.
The competition starts at 8:30 a.m. and will be located at the CrossFit Nac location at 2717 NW Stallings Dr. in Nacogdoches.
