LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Dozens gathered at First Presbyterian Church of Lufkin Tuesday morning for the dedication and blessing of their brand new early learning center.
There will be six classrooms for preschoolers to attend class. The facility is almost ready to accept students. There are still a few areas under construction like the playground, but as soon as those aspects are completed, officials with the Presbyterian Early Learning Center (PELC) will apply for licensing and hope to have their halls full of children very soon.
"We will have toddlers, twos, classes for threes and classes for fourss and five's and they'll be exciting, hands-on classes," said PELC preschool director, Sandy Kelly. "We will have learning centers in each room focusing on different curricular aspects of the curriculum, and we'll also have Bible and chapel each week."
Kelly said the preschool enrollment is open to the community not just specifically for church members.
