The Family Crisis Center of East Texas will be educating teens on matters of the heart. The non-profit organization will host their heart camp from July 23rd to July 25th at Woodland Heights Affinity Center. The camp will kick off each day at 11 a.m. Organizer Susan Robertson said teen years can be rough. Many young adults just don't have the skills or knowledge needed to build healthy relationship. She said this camp will teach the teens communication skills through various activities
"They will learn some fundamentals and characteristics about healthy relationships. So they can carry that on with their peers. Use it with their parents and authority figures. We will be teaching them the building blocks that they need,” Robertson said.
The camp was held last year in Nacogdoches. Robertson said this year they wanted to share the lessons with Lufkin teens. The event will be open to teens ages 13-18.
