HUDSON, TX (KTRE) - Hudson police arrested a Lufkin man who they say assaulted his pregnant girlfriend over drug money, then assaulted her mother and four-year-old child when they tried to break up the fight Sunday in Hudson.
According to Lt. Russell Flanigan, Jacolby Shaun Jones, 25, came to his girlfriend's home in the 3000 block of Ted Trout Drive and asked her for drug money. Flanigan said she refused to give him the money and told him he needed to leave. Flanigan said Jones had a warrant for his arrest following a previous encounter.
Flanigan said Jones then assaulted his girlfriend and when her four-year-old daughter saw the assault, she tried to break him away and he grabbed her by the throat. The woman's mother then tried to stop him and he assaulted her, too, Flanigan said.
Flanigan said by the time he arrived on the scene, Jones had left. He then patrolled the area but got a call that Jones had come back to the home. When Flanigan arrived again, Jones fled into the woods.
Flanigan said DPS and deputies from the sheriff's office arrived and set up a perimeter in the area. Flanigan said Jones was eventually located in a nearby trailer.
He was arrested on a second-degree charge of burglary, third-degree assault family violence, third-degree injury to a child, Class A assault family violence and Class A assault.
