LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - Crime Stoppers of Lufkin wants your help identifying several male suspects who acted together to steal a cash deposit from a convenience store.
At approximately 3 a.m. June 30, 2014, four males arrived at a convenience store on West Frank Avenue in Lufkin. All four were passengers in a gold or light brown colored SUV. One of them, while shopping in the store, noticed that an employee had mistakenly left a cash deposit sitting on top of a cash register.
After discussing his discovery with one conspirator, he enlisted the assistance of another and then worked to distract the employees while his partner pocketed the money and returned to their vehicle.
All of the suspects are black males. The two shown here, in an image taken from the store's security camera video, were directly involved in the theft and the other two appear, based upon the video, to have known about the theft but were waiting in the vehicle when it occurred.
The suspect wearing a white tank top and black shorts pulled low enough to expose his blue underpants was the first to see the deposit and later distracted the employees by asking about food in the deli area. The suspect wearing the dark blue or black T-shirt and black, oversize shorts entered the store, went directly to the cash register, and stole the money.
