Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 62-year-old man after he allegedly pushed a fellow resident at a nursing home hard enough to knock her down.

Bobby Singleton, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches Jail on a third-degree felony charge of injury to the elderly. His bail has been set at $20,000.

According to the arrest affidavit, Nacogdoches Police officers contacted Singleton at a nursing home in the 1200 block of Ferguson Street in reference to a report of him pushing another resident at the facility. The woman who was pushed fell to the floor and hit the back of her head, causing a large lump.

The woman was transported to a local hospital’s emergency room for treatment of her injury.

A nurse on the scene told the Nacogdoches Police officers that Singleton has anger issues and has been verbally abusive to the woman he allegedly pushed since he moved into the facility three weeks ago, the affidavit said.

Singleton allegedly admitted to pushing the woman, and a witness on the scene said the assault was “unprovoked and very aggressive.”
